(Mike's the guy in the middle)

Mike Manske was an Environmental Education volunteer in the Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa, from June 1999 until July 2001. This website was made in part so Mike's family and friends could follow some of his experiences. It was created by his sister, Melissa.

After the Peace Corps
Mike toured parts of Africa and Europe.  He returned to the United States in late September 2001.

2005-2006
Mike worked for Counterpart International in the Podor District of Senegal, Africa, assisting in the implementation of a food security project and the distribution of food to populations affected by HIV/AIDS and maternal and child health centers in villages where child under-nutrition reaches 40%. In addition to this work, he conducted a research study examining the stigma that may be attached to participation in food distribution programs that are known to target HIV/AIDS populations.

2006-2007
Mike continues to work as a Congressional Hunger Center Fellow working with Counterpart International. He resides in Washington, D.C.  Information on Senegal, from Counterpart's website.
